The Official Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 is a powerful
development board based on the ATmega2560 microcontroller.
It is designed for advanced electronics, automation, robotics, embedded
development, sensing, instrumentation, communication, and prototyping projects
that require more pins, memory, and serial ports than standard Arduino boards.
The board features 54 digital input/output pins, of which
14 can be used as PWM outputs, along with
16 analog inputs, 4 UART hardware serial ports,
a 16MHz crystal oscillator, USB connection, power jack,
ICSP header, and reset button. It contains everything needed to support the
microcontroller and can be powered using a USB cable, AC-to-DC adapter, or battery.
The Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 is compatible with most shields designed for the
Arduino Uno, Duemilanove, or Diecimila. Revision 3 includes the 1.0 pinout,
SDA and SCL pins near AREF, IOREF support for shield voltage adaptation,
stronger RESET circuit, and ATmega16U2 USB-to-serial converter.
Caution: The recommended input voltage range is
7V to 12V. If more than 12V is used, the voltage regulator
may overheat and damage the board.
